civilian legal services
NON-Criminal Charges |
 |
Our office represents military personnel and their
dependents in criminal, domestic and personal injury
legal matters in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as in the
Federal court system. Military personnel must be aware that a civilian
criminal charge that results in a conviction, first offender’s
status or a deferred disposition through the state or Federal court
system can frequently lead to adverse administrative action being
taken by the command and can actually result in the service member
being discharged under Other than Honorable conditions. If you are
in the military and are facing civilian criminal charges
in Virginia or the Federal court system, our attorneys will provide
aggressive representation for you and will endeavor to protect your
military career as much as possible.
PERSONAL INJURY |
 |
If you or a loved one has been injured in an accident
in Virginia as a result of another person’s negligence, or
as a result of negligent medical health care treatment
in Virginia, we will provide aggressive representation during the
negotiation process with the insurance company, or litigation in
court. Insurance companies have been increasingly refusing to provide
proper settlement to persons who have been wrongfully injured
– making it even more essential that your attorneys be persuasive
negotiators and ready, and willing, to go to trial if necessary
to properly compensate their clients. We know how to take a tough
stand with the insurance companies and will not hesitate to take
any meritorious claim to trial if an appropriate settlement can
not be obtained. In the very unfortunate situation where a loved
one has died as a result of the negligence or intentional act of
another person, our office will work closely with the representative
of the estate of the deceased to secure proper compensation for
the family of the deceased. Even if the negligent act did not occur
in Virginia, we can provide skilled representation for negotiation
of your claim with the insurance company. We can associate with
counsel in the state where the accident occurred to provide effective
representation in the event it is necessary to file legal action.
DIVORCE |
 |
What was once a happy marriage can quickly turn
into a bitter court battle, often fighting over such things as custody
of children, support or division of marital property. While we will
certainly try to amicably resolve the issues in a marital separation
without the necessity of bringing the case to court, we are totally
prepared to litigate all issues that can arise in a divorce action
and related proceedings. Over the years our office has represented
numerous senior military officers and enlisted personnel, or their
spouses, in divorce cases in Virginia Courts.
